Why Fundraise?

The Grafton Soccer Club board would like to share some of the financial needs of the club with its membership and explain how we can meet those needs through this fun (yes, fun!) fundraiser, CharityMania.

We need to share with you a couple of major expenditures that we’re facing. Two of the main items are:

1. addressing the water drainage problem at Zaun

2. adding and improving fields at Zaun

Three years ago we delayed repairing our parking lot, which led to serious issues during our outdoor tournament that year. We still have some drainage problems which have not been addressed. With regard to the practice fields, many of them are in poor condition. This makes training difficult, even dangerous, for our players. This is a problem about which our coaches have voiced considerable concern, and it must be remedied. Unfortunately, these maintenance projects are expensive.

We are currently in the process of upgrading the parking lot and have plans underway to add additional fields.

Thank you for your support as we continue to improve the soccer playing experience for the children in our community.

CharityMania

2011-12 CharityMania Fundraiser

Each family is required to sell five CharityStudio’s Digital Entertainment Packages at $20 each. This is a selection of digital music and books that can be accessed online. A FootballMania Sweepstakes Ticket comes with each CharityStudio’s $20 Digital Entertainment Package. Please read details below.

If you wish to sell any additional tickets you will receive $10 of family credit for each ticket sold. The family credit can be used just like the gift card family credit is used. If you do not wish to participate, there is a buyout of $75.

CharityStudio description-The CharityStudio Sales Card will provide buyers with download instructions and a unique access code. Buyers can download their digital content (a variety of online music, books, and other entertainment) at any time during the FootballMania season.

FootballMania sweeptstakes ticket description- Each ticket uses 3 random NFL football teams (called a ‘team combination’) for each week of the FootballMania season. The team combination is different each week, and no two tickets have the same 3 teams in any given week. The total number of points scored by the three teams determines the value of the ticket. If two tickets have the same score, the total yards gained by the 3 teams is used as a tiebreaker. The tickets with the four highest scoring team combinations and the two lowest scoring team combinations each week win prizes! Official rules can be found on the CharityMania website.

Winning FootballMania Tickets- CharityMania will send the prize money to the Grafton Soccer Club, so we can send them to the winners. CharityMania also posts the winning ticket numbers on their website each week so that ticket holders can check in to see if they’ve won.

Why Are We Fundraising?

We need to share with you a couple of major expenditures that we’re facing for 2010-11. Two of the main items are:

1) addressing the water drainage problem at Zaun Field

2) improving some of our practice fields

Two years ago we delayed repairing our parking lot, which led to serious issues during our outdoor tournament that year. We still have some drainage problems which have not been addressed, and we would like to be proactive in resolving them as soon as possible.

With regard to the practice fields, many of them are in poor condition. This makes training difficult, even dangerous, for our players. This is a problem about which our coaches have voiced considerable concern, and it must be remedied. Unfortunately, these maintenance projects are expensive.

Rather than raise the soccer registration fees to the level required to cover these expenses, the GSC board is exploring fundraising options.

Thank you for your support in our quest to keep fees reasonable while maintaining a quality club.
